The University has long collaborated with the Comitato Unico di Garanzia (CUG) for equal opportunities, the enhancement of the well-being of workers and against discrimination. Among the actions promoted by the university, under the request of and/or with the support of the CUG, in 2023, the following projects carried out with the aim of eliminating gender-based violence are particularly noteworthy:
- Approval of the University Gender Equality Plan;
- Alias career management and monitoring for gender transition students (39 requests handled);
- Meetings with local associations and governance to improve the management of alias careers and start planning information and awareness-raising activities on alias careers in the university;
- Support to the Participatory Budget Working Group for the analysis of the project proposals “Creation of a SAFE SPACE in UniTo” (an environment in which a person belonging to the LGBT+ population may feel welcome and sure not to be exposed to discrimination, criticism, violence or any other form of physical or emotional violence and “Creation of breastfeeding spaces and parenting support”);
- Collaboration with the University Training Area for the design and delivery of the training course ‘Hate speech and online harassment in the University’ (3 editions in blended mode);
- On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, co-organisation with the CUG of the Politecnico of the conference ‘The boundaries of sexual violence. Perceptions of consent’, (23 November 2023) held at the Cavallerizza Reale;
- Coordination of 132 university lectures, held in November 2023, on ‘The University of Turin Against Gender Violence’;
- Joint collaborations and initiatives with CIRSDe for a gender perspective in education and research.
